We caught up with Lionel B, a bearded gentleman and of course a successful celebrity blogger with over 83 million views on his YouTube channel, a creative music producer working with multiple artists and an innovative mobile game app developer. We were lucky to ask a few questions and find out what’s next for him. Check it out –
What made you realize that music was your path?
As much as I enjoy being a well known YouTuber, I love music even more. Every since I was a child, when I first heard the aggressive drums and rhyme cadence in a hip hop song i was hooked. I was like 3 years old, and I didn’t want any toys that year, I wanted that first album that I heard.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Music that I make is Southern rap. It’s my roots. I can’t really get into the mumble style stuff out nowadays. I feel like music should mean something and say something, making music that people can feel.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Some of my biggest would be Tupac, Jeezy, Rick Ross and T.I. They all staying power and longevity, and they were all able to reinvent themselves without having to change up.
What makes your music unique?
What makes my music unique is the complex production. I love cinematic type tracks. I have some unreleased music that is going to blow people’s minds when they hear it. I got the chance to team up with some really great producers. Collaborated with E.D.I. Mean from Tupac’s Outlawz group and it’s definitely a hot summer banger.
How long have you been growing your beard for?
I’ve been growing my beard for about 7 consistent years now.
What is your daily beard care routine?
I wake up moisturize it and come out the bed beard that’s usually laying in all kinds of weird ways. I wash it every other three days to ensure I don’t dry it out.
Favourite beard oil or cream?
This is a true beard hack for people with coarse beards…I use the S-Curl activator spray. No mess on your hands, just spray it on your beard, comb through it and roll out. It keeps your beard moisturized and not greasy for at least 2 days.
What are your top three tips for maintaining a healthy beard?
Get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, and don’t comb it too much. All of that breakage is gonna cost you in the long run. Your brush is your best friend and kept help you train a growth pattern for your beard. Last tip, if you can’t grow it, mow it. A lot of guys hold on to the patches that refuse to connect, and it just looks bad, like the struggle. Just goatee it man!
