I’ve been growing my first beard since May 2014 (looking forward to its first birthday soon).
Aged 45, I never had a beard before but went to an open casting to be a ‘Supporting Artist’ in a movie for Universal Extras and got the part of a Sailor Cop in the film “Tulip Fever”. It was then that I was asked to not shave as the part required men with as much facial hair as possible.
We filmed the scenes in late June/July and après, whilst filming I had quite a summer tan so chose to continue growing the facial hair rather than shave back to a white chin!
Haven’t shaved since and now get casual work as photographic beard model and was recently used by Just For Men UK for a video shoot as I use their product to ‘take away the grey’.
