    Arron Raw

We caught up with one of our favourite tattooists Arron Raw, he is one of the most talented tattoo artists you will ever have the pleasure of meeting, check out his interview below.

Can you try to give our readers a bit of a background on yourself, a quick spill about things you are into?

I am a tattoo artist from Kearsley near Bolton/Manchester, with a Graphic Design/Signwriting background. I am happily married with 2 kids and Family/Tattooing are my passion.

We have seen on Instagram that you have your own tattoo studio, tell us about how that came about?

I was getting fed up of the grind & seeing shocking working everywhere I went so I decided to pursue tattooing around 7 years ago, opened my studio in 2011 and the rest is history.

We can see that you often tattoo the number one beard model, RIkki Hall. How did that come about and what is he like in person?

He contacted me on twitter last year when he was over in LA with scroobious pip, He liked my work & wanted me be be one of his many tattoo artists. He is genuinely one of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet, So down to earth, we get on like a house on fire, he’s a good friend, we are always in touch with each other. Top Guy!

What other things are you passionate about? (except your beard)

Family, Art, Football, Man United Season ticket holder for many years.

Can you try to take us through your daily routine when it comes to beard care? Do you use products like oils and waxes? Do you have any specific brands that you prefer?

I use many different brands as I get most of it sent to trial, the the main one I use is Captain Fawcett, which I also stock in my studio. I need a strong wax for the moustache so the expedition strength comes in handy or the Booze & Baccy by Mr. Ricki Hall, Amazing scent. Maybe 7 drops of oil on the beard, leave it for a minute then comb it through, No tangles & a great scent all day…

Do you trim and maintain your facial hair on your own, or do you only let your barber handle it? Who is your ‘go to’ guy for trimming and maitenance?

I generally maintain it myself, but when I have time I go to see my mate @inkysteve from BarberBarber in Manchester, he definitely knows his stuff.

Do you feel as though your beard has opened you up to new opportunities? #project60 for example.

I definitely think that Project60 has helped boost opportunities no doubt, I wouldn’t say having a beard has in general. I’ve had it in all different lengths for many years now, but Project60 really has, it’s such an honour to be a part of it, I still can’t believe it to be honest…

What is the one bearded piece of wisdom you would like to share with our readers?

Beard wisdom! I will wear my beard with pride always & to hell with them that have negative opinions about it, Chill people!
