We caught up with a young beardsmen who aspires to become a bearded model, he is a bearded villain by the name of Andre Sargsyan.
Can you try to give our readers a bit of a background on yourself, a quick spill about things you are into?
I’m 18 years old, currently a full-time college student studying in the Computer Science field, but one of my main goals is to make modeling somewhat of a career for me as well along with my educational career. I’m into all kinds of things ranging from playing games, musical instruments all the way to doing archery and kickboxing for pretty much a very big majority of my life.
How long have you been modelling for? Have you always been a ‘bearded model’?
Well I’ve been modeling for about 7 months now, and yes I’ve always been a ‘bearded model’ and also did start as one haha.
We see you are a close friend with Von Knox, do you know many other famous bearded men?
Yeah Von is a great guy, real friendly, and very well-rounded bearded gent he is. Got a few other friends who are considerably famous, my good friend Mikey, definitely a rising star in the industry (@KnockoutArtist), another friend of mine.
Paul also a great dude, he’s gone really far up this past year proud of my boy Paul (@Deadskull), Trig another really great guy I actually met during our recent Bearded Villains shoot, awesome personality (@Trig_Perez), and the rest of my Bearded Villain’s LA Charter brothers, they’re all equally famous in my eyes great people.
Tell us more about the recent Bearded Villains shoot you have just been involved in
The recent shoot with the Bearded Villains was just beyond incredible. Met people from all over SoCal and just had an amazing time working with everyone, all friendly and very well dressed people, great personalities, good vibes, felt like we knew each other for ages. All took place in good ol’ DTLA,
Can you try to take us through your daily routine when it comes to beard care? Do you use products like oils and waxes? Do you have any specific brands that you prefer?
Ah beard care, I currently use beard butter made by Maestro’s Classic (@maestrosclassic) and beard oil from Beard Brand (@beardbrand), both really great products but I’m always willing to try new things, also something very important when it comes to washing your beard. I highly recommend washing it with soap every other day rather than every single day unless you put product into it so your hair’s natural oils won’t completely go away and you get stuck with a very dry beard after a shower.
Do you trim and maintain your facial hair on your own, or do you only let your barber handle it? Who is your ‘go to’ guy for trimming and maintenance?
I honestly as confident as I am in everything I do, my beard nor hair is something that I would never trust myself or anyone else to get near with sharp objects other than my go to guys. My hair barber is the one and only Daniel Winter greatest barber/friend a gent can ask for (@iamdanielwinter). As for my beard barber, Mir is the greatest beard barber and friend that I only trust with my beard maintenance every 2.5-3.5 months (@mirthemasterbarber).
Do you feel as though your beard has opened you up to new opportunities?
Yeah I definitely feel like it really has opened me up to a ton of new opportunities, working and meeting with people all over the world, especially the whole modeling thing that it got me into I absolutely love it.
What’s next for you? Any big plans in the works?
As of now I have a few shoots scheduled for this month and in April that I am really looking forward to, also will be updating my portfolio to make some submissions to agencies to do some work with them.
If there was one bearded product you could not live without, what would it be and why?
I’d have to say the beard butter, beard wash, and beard oils that I already use is more than enough would definitely suck if I couldn’t use them anymore. Keeps my beard nice and soft all day and doesn’t lose its shape or good smell.
Lastly, which are your favourite Instagram pages that you can’t live without?
Definitely have to say the Bearded Villains page is the main one, feels like we’re just an extremely massive villainous family worldwide haha. Also a few very famous people who inspire me in the modeling career, such as Chris John Millington (@chrisjohnmillington), Ricki Hall (@rickisamhall), and Josh Mario John (@Spizoiky) all great people who I see as people who’ve really worked hard and deserve the best in their careers as I’ve seen them grow on social media.
