The odds are that by now you probably know if you can grow a beard or not, however you may have been afraid to realise your full potential growing capabilities.

Follow some of our top tips for growing a beard, time to grow that beard that will definitely make you stand out in a crowd:

    Got the Time?

Patience is the absolute key when it comes to growing a new beard, you need give yourself plenty of time to grow. There may come a time when it doesn’t look how you want it too, appear patchy or uneven but in time this will all change. Why not try a yeard? Shave all of your facial hair and then grow for a full 365 days, no trimming or shaping, this will separate the men from the boys.

    Got an Itch?

A new beard can provide irritation to your skin and cause you to scratch and itch, this is a normal experience and can easily be resolved with proper moisturisation. You need to make sure that you exfoliate your skin on a regular basis and brush your hairs in the direction they are growing in, this will stop the prickly sensation that your new hair brings.

    Need a Wash?

The hair you have on your face should be treated exactly the same as the hair on your head, it is that simple. You need to make sure that you are washing and conditioning it on a regular basis, we advise at least 2 or 3 times a week. A strong scented conditioner and gentle shampoo will keep your beard clean and soft.

    Do you like it soft?

The hair on your face is more dense and coarse than that on your head so you need to soften this by using a quality beard oil, we have several on our brands page that we highly recommend. A beard oil is used to moisturise the skin under your beard whilst giving your beard a shiny coat.

    What shape are you?

When your beard has a reached an optimum length that you are happy with, you can start to shape it to your face. We suggest that you aim to trim your beard tighter on the cheeks, aim for the chiselled look with a freshly cut neck line. If you need any assistance on what shape beard best suits you, head to your local barbers, they are the experts after all.
