Bearded Men in Silky Kimonos – 2017 Calendar

After the international success of Bearded Men in Silky Kimonos 2016, we are delighted to share with you the 2017 edition of the calendar. It’s the perfect gift for lovers of hirsute men. Beards are not just for Christmas, they’re for calendars. And kimonos.

The calendar came about when Londoner Kate Cooper-Owen saw her friend’s boyfriend (and his beard) wearing a silky robe – a look she instantly knew she had to share with the world. With friend Hannah Murphy, she started Kalendah in order to make that dream a reality. The pair teamed up with photographer Woland, whose CV includes Vogue Italia, Elle, Cosmo, Harper’s Bazaar, and Playboy.

This year’s calendar, available for pre-order at www.beardsinkimonos.com, was shot in private homes in South London, at Ruffians barbers in Shoreditch and Marylebone, and at the Gentleman’s Club with a twist, 23 Paul Street in Moorgate.

Featuring Jack Garratt: Last year’s calendar featured as models Kyle Simmons from the band Bastille, and London rapper Mikill Pane. This year, they are delighted to have musician Jack Garratt as one of our beards.

Here is what people said about Bearded Men in Silky Kimonos 2016 edition

“The images are oddly entrancing: romantic, whimsical scenery, combined with hirsute nests of freeflowing chinwool and slippery folds of silk that can’t help but draw the eye.”Broadly, Vice Magazine

“The most hipster of all 2016 calendars…each month you can feast your eyes on a different decadently clad hairy chap. You’re welcome.”Timeout

“2016’s most ironic yet iconic calendar” Yahoo Style

“Why beards are still on fleek in 2016”The Evening Standard
